Interestingly these are real strange facts
The words “insane” and “insanity” are not recognized medical terms but rather legal ones.
The word “lethological” describes the state of not being able to remember the word you want.
In the early 1900’s, in England, an elephant was actually tried, convicted, and hanged for murdering a politician’s daughter during a circus parade.
The longest word in the English language is “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.” It’s a lung disease. “Floccinaucinihilipilification,” is the longest non-medical term in the English language. It means the act of estimating as worthless. Second place goes to the word “antidisestablishmentarianism,” which means opposition to the disestablishment of a church or religious body.
Wonder why
Despite these changes being there, the High Courts of these cities continue to be addressed as The High Court of Bombay, The High Court of Madras and The High Court of Calcutta
In the past few years, the names of various cities in India have been changed from their conventional names to modern name. These include cities like Bombay becoming Mumbai and Madras becoming Chennai, while Calcutta has now become Kolkata. Despite these changes being there, the High Courts of these cities continue to be addressed as The High Court of Bombay, The High Court of Madras and The High Court of Calcutta. This being so, the position today seems to be that Mumbai still has the High Court of Bombay and Chennai still houses the High Court of Madras. The Courts thus seem to be unaffected by the changes brought into the nomenclature of these cities.
