The vision of this institute is to create an inspirational setting where global standards of learning, ethical professional practices and academic and scholarly deliberations are practiced towards attaining individual growth. The aim is to craft a comprehensive, competent and cultured environment by creating an institution that provides distinctively modern and contemporary facilities to make our faculty and graduates benchmarks of excellence.
There are lots of successful people in and around this college, but we are looking for a person who can offer their generosity and what we mean by that word in their generosity of spirit, their willingness to work at others failures, their setbacks and strengths.
Being the director of DME there is a huge responsibility on your shoulders as every individual looks upon you.
As students of this college and campus ambassadors for this magazine we would like to address some questions which hopefully will drive every student to work hard and reach the heights that you have achieved in your life.
“UP CLOSE”
Prior to being a director at this established college it was a whole lot of determination and efforts starting from my B. Ed. In Jodhpur to teaching at various excellent universities and colleges, I did my PHD from University of Rajasthan in the year 2010 but did not give up learning in between as I went to IIM Bangalore and various prestigious universities for short term courses and thereby I paved my way through but I still hope to reach remarkable heights!
‘Standing out among your peers is not what is important, standing through your failures and shortcomings is what builds a man, according to me.’ I did not ever give up and made sure my weaknesses could always be compensated with my strengths. But one area that I always found my strength in was my ability to communicate well and my ability to acknowledge my weaknesses with the same enthusiasm.
I feel criticism doesn’t ever sound constructive, it’s how you take it. My friends and family have been with me throughout and it’s their remarks and suggestions whether harsh or not is what has made me the man I am today.I try to keep a person or a confidante of every generation close enough to criticise my work so that I have an understanding of different mind sets. My peers, my children, every member plays a huge role. So I would say I accept criticism but being a human it’s still sometimes painful.
Funnily enough teaching students has been my greatest teacher. In my early years I was of the thought that discipline and achievements could only be embarked through strictness but it’s the interaction with fellow associates and stories of learned people that made me believe that it’s the politeness that can strive a student to make their way through. I would like to share an incident, back in the days when I started out, my institute got into a legal difficulty and being given such a short notice I decided to present the submissions myself and advocate on behalf of my institute and we ended up winning the case. So this was my way of using mu strengths and putting it across without any hesitation.
Well it’s a healthy mix of both. Being in the profession that I am in today, you never really know when what might come up and therefore no path can be well directed but one thing that has always been well defined in my mind is my duty to act as a teacher to my students. Sharing a small incident, one of my students was starting with the internship and she wanted a letter to be mailed during the weekend which were technically out of my office hours but it was my duty that were directed towards my students that made me not say a no.
It’s always the appreciation and outcome that makes me so driven. You can’t really fall short of kind words in your life. I would like my outcomes and hard work to one day shine really bright. Also, it is rightly said that enter those fields of profession where you truly find your passion. Every morning my passion and enthusiasm for work makes me get up and work harder than before.
Thankyou sir for your time and effort. Our readers will like you more, identify with you more and I promise will want to communicate with you more and be moved by what you said.
