CBI seeks cancellation of Madan Mitra’s bail
CBI has taken leave of Calcutta High Court to move a prayer for cancellation of bail of West Bengal minister Madan Mitra who has been accused of involvement in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam. The leave of the court was taken after Mitra was granted bail by ACJM (in-charge) of Alipore District and Sessions Court Partha Pratim Das
A division bench comprising justices Harish Tandon and I C Das has granted leave to CBI to serve copy of its petition to Mitra’s counsel and move the matter before the court.
Mitra had been in state-run SSKM Hospital since February 11 on the ground of illness and went home from there after being declared fit by a Medical Board of the hospital, only a day after being granted bail.
